MidAmerica to add second cargo flight by end of year

MidAmerica St. Louis Airport plans to add a second cargo flight from South America by the end of the year, Director Tim Cantwell said Wednesday.

A year ago this month, the St. Clair County airport welcomed its first intercontinental air cargo flight with the arrivals of tons of fresh flowers from Bogotá, Colombia, through Miami-based Teqflor International Logistics. Read the rest of this entry »

Creating hub for cut flowers moves forward

The gears are in motion to create a cooperative transportation system for California’s cut flowers, a plan that growers see as a potential savior for competing in the global marketplace.

The aim is to become more efficient by reducing the number of trucks on the road and ensuring trucks are filled to capacity, said Tom French, a consultant hired by the California Cut Flower Commission.
